On Monday, June 6, 2016, Five Little Monkeys owner, Stephanie Sala, was on hand at the American Specialty Toy Retailer Association's Annual Marketplace & Academy to receive ASTRA's 2016 Excellence Award for achieving the highest level of service and for her commitment to the specialty toy industry!
ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) selected Stephanie Sala as the 2016 Toy Retailer of the Year! This award is the highest honor a specialty toy retailer can receive in the industry. She was nominated and selected by manufacturers and sales representatives from throughout the United States and Canada for her outstanding leadership in the toy industry. She has been recognized for her appreciation for the role of play in healthy child development; a commitment to top-notch service; innovative marketing and a willingness to help others in the industry succeed.
Owner, Stephanie Sala, opened the first Five Little Monkeys location in Albany in 2001. “The focus of Five Little Monkeys has always been on creative play, trying to keep the place more imaginative,” Sala explains. Like many of her clients, Sala is a busy mom. She was appointed to serve on the Albany Economic Development Committee and serves on the board of the the local Albany Berkeley Girls Softball League. She knows parents need an organized and well-curated store. Parents will also appreciate Five Little Monkey’s commitment to eco-friendly toys and complimentary gift wrap.
